About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Gas Service Engineer to join our BDMS team, delivering high-quality installation, maintenance, and repair work across various commercial and residential environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install new heating systems, adhering to manufacturer instructions and industry standards.
  • Perform general heating engineering and plumbing duties, including reactive repairs and servicing boilers, fires, and appliances.
  • Issue gas safety notices and certificates, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Assess and prepare sites before starting work, maintaining accurate records of assessments and actions.
  • Conduct routine inspections to prevent issues, responding promptly to emergency calls and minimising disruption.
  • Ensure client satisfaction through clear communication and professionalism, maintaining accurate records of all work.
  • Leverage expertise in related trades, collaborating with other teams and using IT equipment for job monitoring and work allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, collaborating with maintenance team members and reporting issues promptly.
  • Participate in out-of-hours call-out duties, maintaining regular contact with Technical Supervisors.
Requirements
  • CCN1, CEN/WAT, CPA1, CKR1, HTR1 qualifications.
  • Gas Safe registration.
  • Excellent understanding of Health and Safety regulations and procedures.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality construction projects and efficient output to meet client expectations.
  • Able to be flexible in approach to work and working hours, including attending out-of-hours call-out work on a rotational basis.
  • Excellent communications skills, ability to build positive working relationships with clients, contractors, and employees.
  • Capability of taking initiative and working independently, with personal resilience and the ability to work effectively under pressure and to deadlines.
Working Arrangements
  • Working pattern: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Location: Barking & Dagenham.
  • DBS check required for this role.
