OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a Corporate Legal Advisor to enhance our in-house legal team in Manchester.
In this position, you will:

work in tandem with the organization to provide legal assistance to both the legal and credit management teams.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the credit management team with breach of contract debt recovery actions and collaborate with the legal team on non-debt related disputes.
Initiate claims, manage defenses, and oversee any ensuing litigation and enforcement actions.
Handle insolvency processes, creditor services, and other related insolvency issues.
Facilitate communication between external legal representatives and the organization, as well as correspondence with third parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:


A qualified solicitor with a background in commercial litigation, you will possess the confidence to manage debt recovery cases and a solid understanding of legal protocols associated with debt recovery.


You will be adept at drafting legal documents, including letters before claim, defenses, witness statements, winding up petitions, and other relevant court or insolvency documents.


ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Ability to assess liability and damages, preparing reports and advice for the organization.
Experience in making and responding to offers, negotiating settlements of both liability and damages as necessary, under supervision.
Proven track record of managing your own caseload from start to finish.
Capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
Instruction of counsel and experts when appropriate.
Strong analytical abilities to evaluate the financial status of debtors and recommend suitable recovery strategies.
Excellent negotiation skills, with the flexibility to adapt your approach to achieve business objectives.
Effective communication skills, enabling professional interaction with internal stakeholders and external parties.
Meticulous attention to detail.
