Gifted to Perennial by Sir Roy Strong in 2021, The Laskett was created alongside his late wife, Julia Trevelyan Oman, with each element narrating the story of their joyful marriage and the creative milestones of their lives.

We are looking for a Lead Horticulturist to join our dedicated team at The Laskett Gardens on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37.5 hours per week, including some weekends.

Your Responsibilities

As the Lead Horticulturist, you will assist in the upkeep and management of The Laskett Gardens, reinforcing its reputation as a must-see destination.

Collaborating with the Garden Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the garden and supervise staff, volunteers, and contractors to ensure that high horticultural and service standards are upheld.

You will also be responsible for maintaining visitor facilities to a high standard and addressing any issues promptly and effectively.

Qualifications
To be considered for the position of Lead Horticulturist, you should possess:

  • Proven experience in maintaining a high-quality garden
  • Experience in staff management within a horticultural, conservation, or visitor attraction context
  • Familiarity with visitor engagement
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices in a garden setting
  • Experience in leading and working with volunteers
  • A RHS level 3 qualification or equivalent experience
  • A valid driving license
