Job Summary

The Advanced Nurse Practitioner will provide high-quality patient care, demonstrating expertise in clinical decision-making and critical thinking. This role requires a caring, compassionate, and committed individual who can work collaboratively with the general practice team to meet patient needs.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and develop treatment plans for patients with undifferentiated diagnoses
  • Clinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological and psychological perspective
  • Develop and implement interventions for patients with complex needs
  • Proactively identify and manage treatment plans for patients at risk of developing long-term conditions
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, integrating drug- and non-drug-based treatment methods
  • Prescribe and review medication in accordance with national and practice protocols
  • Support patients in adhering to prescribed treatments or over-the-counter medication
  • Prioritize health problems and intervene appropriately in complex, urgent, or emergency situations

Key Requirements
  • Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council
  • Masters degree or postgraduate diploma in Advanced Practice Qualification
  • Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register
  • Experience in primary care and advanced nursing practice
  • Knowledge of public health issues and determinants of health
