We are seeking an experienced Paramedic Practitioner to join our team at Annandale Medical Centre. As a key member of our primary care team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and supporting our GPs in delivering excellent healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct and indirect patient care, focusing on improving or maintaining health and preventing illness.
- Conduct physical examinations and preventive health measures to assess and evaluate patient clinical problems and healthcare needs.
- Refer patients to other available services to meet their needs, where appropriate.
- Undertake triage and face-to-face clinics in partnership with and supervised by a GP.
- Communicate with others regarding patient status and progress, providing education, guidance, case management, and follow-up.
- Undertake home visits, in accordance with practice protocols.
- Conduct daily minor illness/injury clinics and promote primary and secondary prevention with the support of GPs and other clinicians.
- Accurately and timely input patient data onto the clinical system.
- Support and contribute to the development of practice clinical procedures and protocols.
- Participate in clinical audit, as required.
- Liaise with other healthcare professionals, as necessary.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and integrity of the patient/practice relationship.
- Take an active role in practice meetings, as applicable.
- Respond to medical emergencies at the surgery.
- Attend mandatory training sessions or arrange alternatives.
- Work safely, adhering to legislative requirements and practice policies and procedures.
- Essential:
- Primary care experience.
- Good computer literacy.
- Excellent telephone manner and clear speech.
- Strong record-keeping skills.
- Effective communication and listening skills.
- Ability to work in a multi-professional team.
- Primary care home visiting experience.
- Triage skills.
- Face-to-face consultation skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage a demanding workload.
- Awareness of patient needs, relatives, and carers.
- Adherence to confidentiality requirements.
- Ability to cope with patients under extreme stress from social and clinical circumstances.
- Ability to handle change and unexpected urgent requirements.
- Strong written and spoken English skills to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.
- Desirable:
- Management experience.
- Audit experience.
- Research experience.
- Relevant educational qualification.
- Health and Care Professions Council Registered Paramedic.
- Excellent clinical skills, evidenced through Continuous Professional Development.
