Senior Catering Assistant

The Catering team at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for providing high-quality food services to patients, staff, and visitors. As a Senior Catering Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all food provided meets the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Main Responsibilities- Prepare food orders in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards.
- Maintain accurate stock control and rotation to ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Unload, inspect, and sign for incoming goods, process and file standard order forms and advice notes.
- Deliver, issue, and collect orders, food, and supplies to wards and departments in a timely and efficient manner.
- Respond to internal and external enquiries and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
- Pack and check food orders for wards to ensure accuracy and quality.
- Maintain and update records related to duties and stock levels.
- Ensure the delivery area is kept clean and tidy at all times.
- Operate lifting machinery and check goods orders with attention to detail and safety.

To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A willingness to complete all in-house training necessary to own role.
- A basic food hygiene certificate.
- A basic HACCP certificate.
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- A willingness to undertake training to achieve a qualification relevant to the post.
- Demonstrable experience in carrying out duties to the required standard.
- Experience of working in the NHS.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Manual handling experience.
- A valid driving license.
You will need to demonstrate:
- The ability to solve problems in line with the role level.
- The ability to allocate work effectively.
- A basic knowledge of chemicals and cleaning products.
