Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Adolescent Mental Health Specialist to join our team at Priory Hospital Roehampton. As an Inpatient CAMHS Consultant, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality psychiatric care to adolescents with eating disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Clinical Leadership: Serve as the Consultant and Responsible Clinician within the Multidisciplinary Team, taking overall responsibility for patient care and treatment plans.
  2. Assessment and Management: Assess and manage cases, collaborating with patients, carers, and external stakeholders to ensure safe and effective service delivery.
  3. MDT/CPA Meetings: Chair MDT/CPA Meetings and adhere to organizational admission and discharge policies.
  4. Reporting: Prepare and supervise reports for Mental Health Act Review Tribunals & Managers Hearings.
  5. Unit Governance: Contribute to unit governance through expertise and leadership.
Management and Leadership
  1. Clinical Leadership: Offer Clinical Leadership in collaboration with the Ward Manager, ensuring the ward complies with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  2. Ward Governance: Active participation in ward governance meetings and organizational quality improvement initiatives and service development.
  3. CAMHS Governance: Attend Monthly CAMHS governance meetings.
Academic and Professional Development
  1. Academic Meetings: Participate in monthly Academic meetings, delivering case presentations and teaching.
  2. Research and Quality Improvement: Engage in audit, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

Minimum Requirements
  1. Medical Degree and Registration: Hold an MBBS or equivalent Medical Degree and be fully registered with the GMC with a license to practice.
  2. CAMHS CCT/CESR: Be registered on the specialist register with CAMHS CCT/CESR, along with valid AC Status.
  3. Experience and Knowledge: Have experience and knowledge in CAMHS, including the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, as well as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice.
  4. Commitment to CPD: Demonstrate a commitment to continued professional development.
  5. Desirable Experience: Significant experience in inpatient CAMHS and treating disordered eating is desirable.
  6. Collaborative Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
