Job Details

Job Role
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to support the educational and personal care needs of our pupils at Saxon Hill Academy. The successful candidate will have a positive attitude, initiative, and a knowledge of working with children who have special needs, particularly in the areas of physical disability, sensory, complex medical, and communication difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with complex learning and care needs in a variety of settings
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Assist with the development and implementation of behavior interventions and strategies

Requirements
  • Proven experience working with vulnerable children and/or adults in an education, health, or care context
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing situations
  • Knowledge of Makaton or BSL is an advantage
