Senior Account Executive - PR Strategist

Kickstand, a global, full-service communications firm, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Account Executive to join its team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading client relations, developing and executing communications strategies, and driving business growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-growth agency and take on a leadership role across a variety of clients. You will have the chance to work with innovative technology companies, develop your skills, and contribute to the success of our clients.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public relations, with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar role. You will be a self-starter, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a passion for technology and working with startups.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relations & Account Support:
    • Support multiple agency accounts, both consumer and B2B
    • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients
    • Ensure speed and accuracy across all client correspondence
    • Understand clients' business and objectives, and offer counsel and advice that reflects understanding
    • Manage projects for clients, ensuring delivery to deadline and results
    • Manage budgets and costs
    • Lead client calls and attend in-person client meetings
    • Ideate, craft and edit short and long-form content
    • Manage speaker and awards programs
    • Extensive media relations, including:
      • Serving as media lead across multiple accounts, working to secure targeted, high-quality coverage
      • Developing and maintain relationships with key media contacts
      • Contributing to client strategies and execute against quarterly plans
      • Manage press meetings and media tours
      • Showcasing a deep understanding of today's media landscape and regularly monitoring for breaking news
  • Team Support:
    • Provide leadership and direction to team members and co-workers
    • Support development and mentor junior team members
    • Support development and growth of a strong agency culture
    • Consistently demonstrate creative problem solving
    • Support development of training opportunities, including participation in and leading brainstorms, training and planning sessions
    • Offer ideas for Kickstand company initiatives (cultural, operational, etc.)
Requirements:
  • Deep understanding of core PR skills:
    • Media and influencer outreach
    • Client relations
    • Program management
    • Writing
  • Good knowledge of:
    • Print, broadcast and digital media
    • Technology and working with startups
  • Excellent client management skills:
    • Day-to-day management and counsel across multiple accounts
    • Ability to build and deliver client reports
  • Strong work ethic:
    • Proven track record in team building
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
Education and Experience:
  • Undergraduate degree:
    • PR or Marketing-related major
  • 3-5 years of PR experience:
    • Previous agency experience required
    • Tech PR agency environment preferable
  • Experience with PR tools/databases:
    • CisionPoint
    • TrendKite
