Registered Nurse - Canadian Wing Band 5

An exciting opportunity has emerged within the Canadian Wing for Band 5 Nurses eager to advance their careers in the fields of plastics, corneo, and maxillofacial surgery.

Upon successful appointment and completion of a 6-month probationary period, you will qualify for a two-stage New Starter Premium totaling £1500. This includes an initial payment of £500 upon submission of your probation paperwork, followed by an additional £1000 on your one-year anniversary.

Please note that bank staff and individuals returning to the Trust within 12 months are not eligible for this New Starter Premium.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional care to a diverse group of inpatients within a busy 43-bedded surgical unit. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to work in our enhanced recovery area, allowing for professional growth and development. You will collaborate closely with Band 6 colleagues to ensure comprehensive support and development. Excellent communication skills are essential, and the ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic. All necessary training will be provided, and attendance at relevant mandatory study days is expected. We are dedicated to offering educational opportunities to all staff, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and development within the Ward team.

Job Duties

The post holder will be an integral part of a team dedicated to creating a safe, effective, and efficient care environment for patients, their families, and caregivers. Responsibilities include the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programs under the indirect supervision of senior staff. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate procedures, supervise unqualified staff, and work independently once the key learning outcomes of the foundation program are achieved.

Newly Qualified Nurses
