Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Associate Director of Finance to join our team at NHS Dumfries and Galloway. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in leading the Financial Management function and supporting the delivery of our Financial Recovery Programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain strong budgetary and financial control, ensuring compliance with statutory financial targets and regulations.
  • Provide professional financial advice and management information to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Work closely with senior staff to develop short and medium-term financial plans, aligning with local, regional, and national priorities.
  • Deputise for the Deputy Director of Finance, including attendance and presentation at NHS Board, Performance Committee, and other senior meetings.
Requirements
  • Qualified to CCAB, CIMA, or equivalent, with significant experience at a management level within the public sector.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
