Family Support Worker

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you will work closely with children, young people, and families to provide support and guidance to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct and therapeutic interventions to support vulnerable children, young people, and families.
  • Work with parents and carers to identify and overcome barriers to help them meet the needs of their children.
  • Deliver and co-facilitate evidence-based programs and group work in partnership with internal and external colleagues.
  • Engage with children, young people, and families using a holistic approach to include them in planning, decision-making, and goal-setting.
  • Empower children, young people, and families to contribute to the development of the service through evaluation, consultation, and feedback.
Requirements
  • Sound knowledge of safeguarding issues and experience of applying legislation and policy and procedure to practice.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of child development and the needs of children, young people, and families.
  • Knowledge and understanding of multi-agency and partnership working and the variety of services available to families.
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and adults from a variety of backgrounds in an outcome-focused way.
  • Experience of supporting children, young people, and families to manage change and working in partnership with them to shape and enhance service provision.
