About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Chief Legal Officer - Privacy & Regulatory to join our S&P Global Market Intelligence legal team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated support to the team, serving as the first line of escalation for drafting, implementing privacy strategies, negotiating agreements, and handling data subject access requests.
  • Develop expertise in multiple areas of law to counsel internal clients on business and legal risks throughout the customer relationship.
  • Negotiate, draft, and review various commercial agreements, including data licenses, software licenses, and strategic alliance agreements.
  • Provide legal and business solutions to product, sales, and strategic alliances teams, with a focus on EMEA and Americas.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate business and legal risks related to new products and initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Market Intelligence Legal Team, offering strategic and legal insights across different business areas.
Requirements
  • 10+ years' experience as a practicing lawyer/legal counsel, with a background in commercial contracts from a law firm or in-house legal environment.
  • Experience in both privacy and regulatory compliance in technology or financial company.
  • Proficiency in negotiating and drafting commercial technology, data, and software licensing contracts.
  • Familiarity with compliance, intellectual property, and data privacy.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
