As a Lead Infrastructure Planning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Asset Strategy and Capital Delivery Directorate. The Asset Planning division is essential for driving effective investment strategies to ensure that projects align with organizational objectives and deliver anticipated benefits.

Engineers in the Infrastructure Asset Planning team are responsible for developing optimal and sustainable investment solutions for infrastructure assets, including distribution mains, trunk mains, meters, and control valves.

Your project responsibilities will encompass a variety of tasks, including but not limited to, managing infrastructure risks in collaboration with operational and delivery teams; overseeing project planning during the conceptual phase and providing support throughout the project lifecycle; and formulating and backing investment project proposals and business cases, all driven by data to enhance performance, mitigate risks, and control costs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in data collection, management, and analysis
  • Advanced skills in MS Office, with experience in Microsoft Visio
  • Strong understanding of water network operations
  • Valid driving license
  • Attention to detail and adherence to processes
  • Competence in data analysis, particularly with large datasets
  • Focus on health and safety
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Relevant qualifications for chartership pathways, such as CIWEM, ICE, or IoW (preferred)

  • Standard working hours: 08:30am - 17:00pm (Monday to Thursday), 08:30am - 16:30pm (Friday)
