The Role:
  • Ensure the quality of all engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to develop detailed project plans and schedules, adhering to approved budgets and deadlines.
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in the definition, implementation, and delivery of engineering work packages.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, identifying and mitigating potential hazards through design.
  • Develop technical specifications that clearly define the requirements for engineering solutions.
  • Produce detailed calculations to determine component sizing, specifications, and ratings.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure customer satisfaction.
The Person:
  • Possess a degree with honors or equivalent qualification (ideally).
  • Hold Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • Demonstrate several years of experience in design engineering within a highly regulated industry, such as the nuclear sector.
  • Proficient in using standard Microsoft Office software and CAD software/digital tools.
  • Possess a strong understanding of relevant design codes, standards, procedures, and legal frameworks.
  • Exhibit excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
