We are seeking an experienced Senior Let Estate Building Surveyor to join our team at The National Trust. As a key member of our Let Estate Management Team, you will be responsible for managing the maintenance and repair of our diverse portfolio of properties across Sussex and Kent.
Key Responsibilities- Manage large projects, specifying, tendering, and overseeing the delivery of building conservation and maintenance works.
- Provide technical support to Building Supervisors and Estate Managers, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Line manage Building Supervisors and advise Estate Managers on building-related matters.
- Develop and implement a programme of cyclical building works, including obtaining Listed Building Consents.
- Act as project manager, lead consultant, or commercial client on large projects, ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.
- Qualification in surveying or architecture (MRICS, MCIOB, RIBA, or equivalent).
- High-level financial acumen and experience managing large budgets.
- Robust knowledge of building conservation, procurement, maintenance, repair, and asset and contract management.
- Demonstrable experience in design relating to heritage and conservation built assets.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and best practice, including submitting listed building consents.
- Experience delivering projects in a multi-disciplinary environment and working at pace across a varied client base and large geographical area.
