Quality Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to support our client, a leading manufacturer, through a period of quality system change. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing APQP and PPAP methodologies, managing a quality team, and supporting them through a period of growth.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement APQP and PPAP processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Manage a multidisciplinary team, identifying strengths and managing accordingly
  • Plan and organize resources and time to deliver overall objectives
  • Make decisions, take action, and own outcomes while using personal expertise to promote ideas
  • Deal with customers, provide guidance, and advise on product selection
  • Support and assist with new product implementation methodologies
  • Lead and conduct root cause analysis on non-conforming products
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality management processes and procedures
  • Review quality aspects of customer specifications and contracts
  • Supervise and provide guidance to inspectors, technicians, and other quality-related staff
  • Investigate customer product complaints and quarantined items
  • Coordinate quality meetings and training matrixes
  • Data analysis and reporting, including creating reports and presentations
  • Leadership of an inspection team
  • Prioritizing inspection tasks to support production requirements
  • Perform internal quality audits in line with audit plans
  • Document control
  • Customer management
Requirements:
  • Experience implementing APQP/PPAP processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Six Sigma qualified (Black Belt preferred)
  • Experience working in a diverse manufacturing environment (ideally nuclear or aerospace)
  • Strong knowledge of ISO9001 and AS9100
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary team
  • Planning and organizing skills
  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Good IT skills, especially Excel
