Job Overview

An esteemed provider of machinery utilized in the automotive sector is seeking a versatile Field Service Engineer to deliver exceptional support to clients throughout the UK, Ireland, and Europe.

In the role of Field Service Engineer, you will be tasked with both remote assistance and on-site service execution, which includes inspections, assessments, and maintenance of equipment, production lines, and automation systems. You will be recognized as a product authority, dedicated to ensuring customer satisfaction.

During your visits to client locations, your responsibilities will encompass machine inspections, maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting, installations, and providing training to customers.

While on-site, you will have the opportunity to suggest products and services tailored to meet customer requirements.

Visits to the primary Service Centre will involve reporting service opportunities to the service and sales teams for further action.

As you gain expertise and familiarity with the machinery, you will also be responsible for training and mentoring new field service engineers, as well as supporting the service sales team.

Experience Required:

The ideal candidate for the Field Service Engineer position will have prior experience in a similar service engineering capacity, particularly with high-value capital equipment within a related industry, such as food or industrial manufacturing.

Confidence in interpreting technical documentation, including flow diagrams, electrical schematics, P&ID, and maintenance manuals, is essential.

Qualifications:

A formal qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, or Process Automation is mandatory (Certificate, Diploma, or Degree).

Additionally, holding an Electrical Certification, such as the 16th/17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations or an equivalent, is required.

Additional Information:

Candidates MUST possess a Full Clean UK driving license.

Candidates MUST be eligible to work and reside in the UK. Documentation such as Visa and Passport will be requested.

This role is field-based, thus candidates MUST be comfortable with travel and overnight stays for on-site visits across the UK and Europe.

Salary: Competitive salary based on experience, up to approximately £41k basic, in addition to overtime, bonuses, a company vehicle, and benefits.
