Purchasing Officer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Dudley. The successful candidate will have experience within a purchasing role, be fast thinking, and have great attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
  • Dealing with supplier queries and providing general office support
  • Constant daily communication with other managers and teams to determine supply needs and timeframes
  • Purchase and schedule material supplies according to specifications
  • Assist in forecasting to plan future orders
  • Supporting Production/Warehouse/Goods In with queries and stock levels
  • Liaise with the Sales team and assist with Bills of Materials for new products
  • Attend daily Production meetings

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within a similar capacity
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
  • Understanding of forecasting and budgeting
  • Ability to work off own initiative and react quickly to resolve issues
  • Proficient in MS Office
