GTS Group Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge instrumentation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the design and development of innovative products that meet the needs of our customers.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will serve as the design authority for all electronics, software, and mechanical design activities, driving projects from concept through to medium-volume manufacturing. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring a team of engineers, ensuring projects meet time and budgetary constraints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement design strategies to meet customer requirements and drive business growth.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to design and develop innovative products, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Manage and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure project success.
  • Oversee product design, testing, and on-site commissioning, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs and develop solutions that meet their expectations.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a degree in Mechanical Engineering and extensive experience in high-tech design environments. You will also need to have strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to guide and develop a technical team.

  • Proven track record of leading design teams and driving business growth.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles and ability to translate theory into practical, field-ready products.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects and tasks.

Security Clearance:

UK passport holders only, with proof of residency in the UK for the last 5 years. Security clearance will be applied for upon appointment.
