Shift Leader Job Description

We're seeking a skilled Shift Leader to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver exceptional customer service and store operations in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership of store activities, including running duty shifts and coordinating a team to deliver a clean and full store that exceeds customer expectations.
  • Provide on-the-job coaching and feedback to team members to improve service and performance.
  • Monitor and manage store performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing practical actions to address them.
  • Ensure the store is always clean, tidy, and well-presented, and that products are replenished in a timely manner.
  • Proactively manage queues and customer flow to deliver a great shopping experience.
  • Support the Store Manager in coordinating seasonal, community, and charity events, and in managing absence within the store.
  • Build meaningful relationships with colleagues, Area Managers, and People Partners to ensure effective communication and support.
Requirements:
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve high standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and customer service principles.
