About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team at the UKHSA Porton Down site. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks to schedule
  • Conduct routine maintenance work on mechanical systems, including steam generation and HVAC systems
  • Identify and repair defects in equipment, ensuring minimal downtime
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team to achieve goals and objectives
  • Comply with company risk assessments and method statements
Requirements
  • Experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably with HVAC systems
  • Multi-skilled background with a good understanding of steam generation and HVAC systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
