Job Title: Asset Surveyor - Housing

We are seeking an experienced Asset Surveyor to join our team at Saffron Housing. As an Asset Surveyor, you will be responsible for providing an asset surveying service across our property portfolio, ensuring that our homes meet the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough asset surveys of our property portfolio to determine the scope of work required, considering stock condition, Housing Health & Safety Rating System (HHSRS), Decent Homes (DH) and Energy Efficiency.
  • Collect and analyze data relating to Decent Homes, HHSRS, housing component condition and lifecycles, and assess and rate stock accordingly.
  • Assist with gathering property data relating to Health and Safety, compliance, sustainability, and asbestos.
  • Undertake periodic site surveys and ad-hoc surveys as required to ensure quality standards are achieved.
  • Develop and deliver solutions to problems that are sensible, practical, and proportionate to the risk.
Requirements:
  • Experience in stock conditions surveys in the Social Housing sector and understanding of residential construction methods and domestic services.
  • A recognized construction-related qualification, such as Assoc RICS, MRICS, or an HNC level in Building Surveying, building pathology, Building Studies / Construction, or equivalent level of experience.
  • A good understanding of the Decent Homes Standard and the Health and Safety Rating System, along with a good understanding or qualification in asbestos management, sampling, or removal.
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to liaise with various audiences both in writing and verbally.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
