The Recruitment Bunker is exclusively seeking an Inventory Management Specialist for a prominent automotive organization renowned for its exceptional assembly facilities.

This organization is currently undergoing significant expansion, having secured a long-term agreement for innovative, custom-built vehicles to enhance their existing offerings. This position is ideal for a passionate automotive enthusiast, joining a team of like-minded individuals.

Role Summary:

  • Position: Inventory Management Specialist
  • Compensation: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum
  • Leave: 25 days plus 8 public holidays

Our state-of-the-art production facility in Newton Aycliffe spans 40,000 square feet and features specialized workshop areas for assembly, engine work, manufacturing, painting, and bodywork. As we progress, our production capabilities are set to expand significantly, reflecting our commitment to innovation and growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Adhere to and implement the company's quality, health, safety, and welfare policies.
  • Manage the flow of goods in and out, maintaining accurate records of inventory movements.
  • Generate purchase orders and coordinate with central accounts regarding payments and deliveries.
  • Facilitate the transportation of parts and materials between various sites.
  • Process and fulfill orders while replenishing stock in the general stores and engineering areas.
  • Organize deliveries and returns efficiently.
  • Communicate with colleagues and suppliers via phone and email to ensure timely availability of required parts for production.
  • Assist in stocktaking of components, in-house fabricated items, and raw materials.
  • Conduct general procurement activities, including researching, sourcing, and ordering parts at optimal prices.
  • Operate the company vehicle for inter-site transportation or supplier visits.
  • Verify delivery quantities and sign for received goods.
  • Distribute stock to designated production areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report any shortages to management.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in a complex inventory environment within the automotive production sector.
  • Strong understanding of automotive components and technology, with the ability to learn about the specific parts involved in the product range.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a quality-focused environment.
  • Proficient IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Office applications such as Outlook and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in work.
  • Dependable and reliable work ethic.
  • Possession of a full, clean driving license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a low-volume assembly production line for custom vehicles.
  • Familiarity with DMS-type inventory and supplier management software.
  • Knowledge of fabrication processes and materials used in metal component production.
  • Understanding of materials utilized in painting and bodywork processes.
  • Forklift truck license (training available if needed).
  • Interest in classic cars, engineering, and mechanics, along with enthusiasm for specialized or performance vehicles.
