We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Landscape Projects Officer to join our busy landscape team at East Lothian Council. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality landscape design services to all council departments.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Landscape Architecture and be a member of the Landscape Institute. You will be responsible for advising the public, council members, and officials on issues related to landscape and trees, as well as providing a high-quality landscape design service to all council departments.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their career and be part of a dynamic team. You will have the flexibility to work within the Council headquarters in Haddington and homeworking, allowing you to achieve a great work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities

  • To undertake and assist in managing the work of the team so that the council carries out its statutory duties and related functions with particular reference to the Council's responsibilities for trees and landscape issues under the Town & Country Planning Acts and related legislation.
  • To advise the public, council members, and officials on issues related to landscape and trees.
  • To provide a high-quality landscape design service to all council departments.
  • To undertake the design and implementation of a wide range of landscape and environmental improvement projects, and other Council projects.

Requirements

  • Relevant Qualifications: Degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • Driving Licence: As the duties of this role require you to effectively travel to successfully undertake the full remit of the role, you must hold a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
