Educational Support Assistant

Position: Educational Support Assistant
Location: Dorchester
Target Group: Secondary Education
Compensation: £14.72 per hour

We are collaborating with a mainstream educational institution that prioritizes an engaging and nurturing atmosphere, enabling students to flourish through a combination of academic instruction and experiential learning.

Key Responsibilities of the Educational Support Assistant:
> Supervise and assist students in their daily activities within the classroom.
> Provide individualized and small group assistance to students with special educational needs.
> Aid in the execution of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans (BSPs).
> Implement and follow through with behavioral strategies as directed by the classroom educator.
> Promote the learning and wellbeing of students throughout the institution.
> Collaborate with and support learning support staff.

Qualifications and Skills Required:
> Familiarity with strategies and interventions for supporting students with autism is advantageous.
> Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
> Patience, empathy, and a deep understanding of diverse student needs.
> Relevant qualifications or training in special education or autism support are preferred but not mandatory.
> A degree of flexibility and adaptability is essential.

To be considered for the role of Educational Support Assistant with GSL Education, candidates should:
> Have the legal right to work in the UK.
> Present an updated CV with two relevant references from the past two years.
> Possess a DBS registered with the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
