Special Needs Education Support Assistant

Are you committed to enhancing the educational experience of young individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)?
As a Special Needs Education Support Assistant, you will be instrumental in delivering customized assistance and mentorship to young learners with SEND within our dynamic educational setting.
Your role will involve close collaboration with educators, SEND coordinators, and external specialists to foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where every child can excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing individualized and small group support to children with SEND, ensuring their unique requirements are addressed and they can fully engage with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Primary Curriculum.
- Working alongside teaching staff to design and execute tailored learning strategies and interventions that promote the academic, social, and emotional growth of children with SEND.
- Utilizing sensory integration methods, communication techniques, and behavior management strategies to assist children with varied needs.
- Establishing strong connections with parents, guardians, and external organizations to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting children with SEND both in the educational environment and at home.
- Delivering compassionate personal care to students, including assistance with hygiene needs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in Early Years and Primary settings.
- A solid understanding of EYFS and Primary curriculum frameworks and strategies for aiding children with diverse learning requirements.
- Empathy, patience, and a positive outlook towards nurturing the unique strengths and challenges of children with SEND.
- Relevant qualifications or training in supporting children with SEND, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching and Learning in Schools and TEAM TEACH is desirable but not essential.
