Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Electrical Engineering team at Kenton Black. As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading electrical design projects from concept to completion, ensuring that all designs meet the required standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess project requirements and develop detailed electrical design plans
  • Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project scope, budget, and timelines are met
  • Design and develop electrical systems, including building services, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low-voltage systems
  • Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including the National Electric Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, NFPA 72, IBC, and other related codes
  • Lead and mentor junior electrical engineers and designers to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete projects successfully
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and best practices to ensure Kenton Black remains a leader in electrical engineering

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in electrical design and engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
  • Registered Professional Engineer (RPEng) or equivalent certification
  • Expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD and Revit
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, including building services, power distribution, generators, lighting, fire alarm, security, and other low-voltage systems
  • Experience with medium-voltage systems, electrical hazardous classified areas, and telecommunications systems
  • Excellent communication and project management skills
