Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across the Penzance – Camborne area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  • Work closely with class teachers to develop and implement personalized learning plans, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Assist with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, including finding additional resources and activities to support students who require extra help.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development of a safe and supportive classroom culture, adhering to Child Protection, Health and Safety, Behaviour, Teaching and Learning, and Equal Opportunities policies.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year's experience working with SEN students.
  • Good understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to find suitable resources for students.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Valid Child Workforce DBS and willingness to undergo additional training and development opportunities.
  • Appropriate qualifications and training for the role, as outlined in the FAQ section of the Teaching Personnel website.
