We are seeking an Operations Lead for our terminal operations. This role is pivotal in managing daily activities and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency are upheld.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all operational functions and guide Terminal Operators in executing their tasks effectively.
  • Continuously assess daily operations, prioritizing and coordinating activities to optimize workflow.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors, reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) to ensure they are tailored to site-specific requirements.
  • Generate and manage Permits to Work, ensuring proper authorization and closure as necessary.
  • Serve as the primary Incident Controller during emergencies, equipped with the training to manage and coordinate site incidents effectively.
  • Participate in the emergency response team, working alongside emergency services during incidents.
  • Facilitate communication between Terminal Operators and the Terminal Operations Manager to ensure all parties are informed of ongoing activities.
  • Maintain excellent communication with staff, contractors, and third parties regarding site activities that may affect their operations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for reporting safety incidents, equipment failures, and other significant concerns, taking immediate action as required.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of the Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) Regulations and site-specific Major Accident Hazard scenarios.
  • Ensure safe operations during the receipt, storage, transfer, and loading of petroleum products.
  • Manage stock levels and conduct product quality testing, ensuring accurate documentation and analysis of results.
  • Promote a strong health and safety culture, advocating for the highest standards of safe working practices.
