As a leader in the third-party optical transceivers market, Halo Technology caters to a diverse clientele from its operational hubs and sales offices across the USA, Europe, and Asia.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team on a temporary basis. The ideal candidate will oversee a team of two finance assistants, ensuring the efficient daily operations of the UK finance department, maintaining data accuracy, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and FRS 102. The role involves analyzing data and trends to provide valuable insights that facilitate informed business decisions and cost management.

This role will report directly to the Group Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes for the primary UK trading entity.
  • Oversee accounting operations and processes, ensuring that robust financial systems and procedures are established and followed.
  • Lead the audit of UK statutory accounts and the preparation of financial statements, ensuring adherence to UK GAAP and FRS 102.
  • Monitor departmental expenditures monthly to assist in budget control.
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts for the EMEA region, providing monthly variance analysis between actuals and budget.
  • Compile information for UK corporation tax returns and assist in forecasting quarterly tax obligations as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Amphenol corporate policies and fulfill monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements.
  • Review monthly payroll and coordinate with the HR Manager to ensure timely salary payments and compliance with employer-related taxes.
  • Submit annual payroll returns and review necessary submissions.
  • Prepare and review all relevant VAT, Intrastat, and EC sales list reports.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of the monthly payment run.

Additional Reporting Tasks:

  • Conduct a second review of monthly payroll.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting, which may include due diligence assignments.

Required Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant (preferably ACA / ACCA).
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel.
  • Self-motivated with a strong analytical mindset.
  • Ability to interpret data and trends to deliver meaningful insights.
  • Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication abilities.
  • Capability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
  • Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times.
