About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our team at Long-term Teachers Ltd. As a key member of our support staff, you will work closely with a child with specific educational and developmental needs, providing individualized support and guidance to help them thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with additional needs, assisting with their educational and developmental goals
  • Assist in organizing and delivering learning activities, including literacy, numeracy, and ICT, to promote academic growth and engagement
  • Maintain a safe and stimulating learning environment, adhering to the class teacher's direction and ensuring the child's well-being
  • Implement and assist with a behavior management program to promote positive interactions and social skills
  • Supervise children during break times as part of your Midday Supervisor duties, ensuring their safety and well-being
  • Support the organization of school trips and out-of-school activities, enhancing the child's educational experience
Requirements
  • Be able to perform the duties as described, with a strong commitment to supporting children with special needs
  • Patient, calm, and adaptable, with excellent communication skills to build strong relationships with the child, teachers, and other staff
  • Creative and motivated, with the ability to take initiative and work collaboratively as part of a team
  • Comfortable working with children with special educational needs and providing personal care support, with a willingness to undergo Team Teach training if required
