About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the finance team and reporting to the Finance Director to ensure robust financial controls are adequate. In addition to compiling the month-end reporting pack for the leadership team.

  • Prepare the month-end reports to be presented to the Finance Director in readiness for the leadership team meetings.
  • Working as a business partner to the budget holders, ensuring accountability surrounding the variance results.
  • Manage and lead the budget process and implementing controls as required.
  • Preparation of the statutory accounts for all subsidiary companies, working with the auditors (internal and external).
  • Oversee the transactional finance including purchase ledger, sales ledger and treasury functions.
  • Responsible for VAT and statutory returns are completed

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • A formal qualification in finance with a minimum of 3 years post qualified experience
  • Experience of working within public sector or education would be highly desirable
  • Excel knowledge to an advanced level
