Key Responsibilities


Objective


To conduct mandatory thorough examinations of cranes and lifting apparatus in compliance with applicable legislative standards, company protocols, and client guidelines where necessary.

Perform inspections in accordance with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998; rope access certification is essential as it constitutes a significant aspect of the role.

Demonstrate the ability to utilize various inspection techniques on components, lifting devices, and tools to ascertain compliance with specifications.


Execute load testing and non-destructive testing (NDT) as required, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and efficiently, while documenting the condition of all inspected items and entering data into the company database.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Implement the most effective inspection techniques on components.
  • Ensure the work environment is safe for conducting activities.
  • Perform risk assessments as required.
  • Confirm that equipment function tests are executed per the established procedures, reporting any faulty equipment to the supervisor.
  • Conduct inspections within the parameters of the relevant specifications.
  • Analyze test results in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Generate clear and detailed reports outlining the methods employed, inspection results, and findings, noting any limitations or restrictions.
  • Complete tasks efficiently and within deadlines, adapting to changing priorities as necessary.
  • Adhere to Oceaneering's operational procedures and statutory/client specifications.
  • Undertake additional reasonable duties as assigned by supervision or management.
  • Conduct work in alignment with the Company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Systems.
NON-
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
§ Assist with HSSE visits to client sites, including offshore locations as needed.

§ Support regular audits and assessments of services as scheduled, monitoring and reviewing the impact of any changes.

§ Aid in other duties and internal management processes as required.

§ The list of responsibilities is not exhaustive, and the position holder may be expected to perform tasks reasonably associated with the role.

Qualifications

REQUIRED
§ Completion of the LEEA Foundation Course

§ Additional LEEA certification

§ IRATA Level 1 or 2 certification

§ MPI - PCN Level 2 certification

§ DPI - PCN Level 2 certification

§ Proficient in IT

§ Minimum of 5 years of experience in cranes or lifting equipment

§ Valid driving license

DESIRED
§ Familiarity with relevant regulations, such as LOLER, PUWER, and Supply of Machinery

§ Knowledge of applicable standards, including BS-EN lifting accessories, BS-EN 818 series (chains for lifting), ISO 10855 series (offshore containers), DNV Standards, and LLOYDS standards.

§ Experience in wire rope socketing

§ Training in crane inspection

§ Experience in drafting load test/examination procedures

§ A flexible approach, teamwork skills, and effective communication abilities

§ Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

§ Completion of an eye test
