Job Title: Design Team Leader

NJ Screen Prints Ltd is a leading volume screen printer of garments to retail and trade. With cutting-edge printing technology and strong relationships with high street retailers and major supermarket brands, we employ around 170 staff and are committed to delivering exceptional design, quality, and customer service.

About the Role

We are seeking 2 experienced printers who have worked in screen and digital printing, preferably on textiles. You will be responsible for leading small teams to achieve excellence in efficiency, quality, and service to customers at our site in Hinckley. Your key responsibilities will include:

  1. Motivating and supporting team members to improve performance and behaviours.
  2. Ensuring good housekeeping practices, including waste and recycling monitoring.
  3. Ensuring a continuous flow of garments through machines.
  4. Working with shift managers to resolve critical risk issues that may delay objectives.
  5. Setting and leading by example on exacting standards of behaviour and performance within the department.
  6. Briefing crews at the start of each shift on work targets and required performance.
  7. Collating hourly run rate figures and inputting into the shift output spreadsheet.
  8. Being flexible and carrying out ad-hoc duties and helping in other areas when required.
  9. Monitoring crew and individual performance during shifts and escalating as necessary.
  10. Unlocking and locking up the factory when covering for shift managers.
  11. Completing shift plans in the absence of shift managers.

This is a shift position, Monday to Friday, rotating weekly between 5.15pm, with occasional overtime available including weekends.
