About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Samuel James Recruitment Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a crucial role in the successful delivery of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the procurement and account handling of subcontractors, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of projects.
  • Prepare monthly project reports, forecasting costs and values, and ensuring budgetary control to meet project objectives.
  • Prepare and value progress and final payments for contracts and subcontracts, along with cash flow forecasting to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Appraise construction options, prepare bills or schedules of quantities for materials, labour, and services required for construction and engineering works.
  • Code bill of quantities in Cost X for trade packages and generate QS 1&2 project budgets, loading values into SAP to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare cash flow projections based on contract and target programmes, using these to monitor actual vs. planned progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Re-measure trade packages to identify quantity errors and process tender enquiries, maintaining a procurement tracker aligned with the target programme.
  • Conduct value engineering appraisals in coordination with the design team and project manager to optimize project costs and efficiency.
  • Perform subcontractor reference checks to assess health and safety adherence, programme performance, quality standards, financial stability, and other relevant criteria.
