Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
As a pivotal member of our team, you will:

  • Oversee the preparation and evaluation of assigned VAT returns, both domestically and internationally.
  • Review EC Sales lists and intrastate declarations to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct assessments of balance sheet tax reconciliations within established deadlines.
  • Support the annual PSA returns review process.
  • Monitor VAT account postings, ensuring all journal entries are backed by appropriate documentation.
  • Provide expert advice to various teams regarding new products, invoice complexities, and ad-hoc inquiries.
  • Assist in establishing new VAT registrations globally.
  • Participate in system testing for new VAT regulations and product launches.
  • Ensure systems reflect VAT rate changes by collaborating with relevant teams.
  • Deliver VAT training sessions to other teams and business units as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and working papers in line with departmental policies.
  • Engage with tax advisors, both local and international, as necessary.
  • Address queries from tax authorities promptly and efficiently.
  • Contribute to project work related to acquisitions, disposals, and restructuring.
  • Assist in providing information for audit inquiries.
  • Support non-routine VAT matters as they arise.
  • Guide and mentor junior accountants within the team.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A professional accounting or tax qualification (CTA, ACA, or ACCA preferred).
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Tax & Financial Accounting.
  • Proficiency in SAP and Oracle systems.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to process improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, even under pressure.
  • Effective presentation abilities.
  • Experience in managing teams is advantageous.
