Job Description

Senior Planner (Major Projects)

Overview

As a Senior Planner at London Gatwick, you will play a key role in the Construction team, responsible for schedule development, monitoring, recovery plans, and reporting. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and interesting projects with a typical value of £50m+.

Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule Development: Develop and manage robust delivery schedules with clear targets and understanding of all activities and interfaces that support the successful completion of the projects.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with key stakeholders, including contractors and project managers, engineers, and subcontractors regarding the status of projects.
  • Technical Advice: Offer technical advice and support to team members about best practices and utilisation of the schedule to support the project objectives.
  • Schedule Monitoring: Perform schedule monitoring, including identifying critical activities and involvement in risk management and mitigation measures.

Requirements

  • Experience: Previous experience as Senior Planner on projects with a value typically above £20m.
  • Qualifications: Possession of a relevant qualification or recent demonstrable analytical experience in a STEM/construction related industry.
  • Skills: Experience in managing complex projects and with Primavera software (P6), MS Excel, and other Microsoft Office tools.
  • Desirable: Experience of working in a live environment is desirable, although airport experience is not essential.
