Legal Counsel, Wills and Probate

Farewill is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our team and contribute to the delivery of world-class Wills and Probate services to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the legal aspects of Farewill's professional executorship service, Probate product, and Wills product.
  • Provide legal input into Probate product quote flows, landing pages, product guides, marketing materials, and call scripts.
  • Train the Probate Sales team on topics such as estate administration, valuing estates, and regulatory changes.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on Wills written by our will writing specialists for accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Work closely with the Head of Legal to identify, manage, and mitigate risk across the business.
  • Be the day-to-day point of escalation for questions/issues related to Probate from across the business.
Requirements:
  • Qualified as a Solicitor in England and Wales, ideally with a STEP qualification.
  • 2-5 years experience in will drafting and probate, strong knowledge of tax and trusts, and ideally knowledge of NI and Scottish wills.
  • Pragmatic, commercially-minded, and solutions-focussed, with excellent communication skills.
What We Offer:
  • A starting salary of £45-50k + stock options.
  • Hybrid working; our team works a minimum of 2 days/week in our east London (Haggerston) office.
  • 28 days of annual leave plus the usual public holidays.
