Job Title: Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs in a mainstream secondary school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with special educational needs, adapting teaching materials and strategies to meet their unique needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons, promoting inclusive learning environments and supporting students with diverse learning styles.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behavior management strategies, promoting positive relationships and respectful behavior among students.
  • Support teachers in assessing student progress, providing feedback, and recording data to inform teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Participate in extracurricular activities, such as clubs and sports events, fostering student engagement and personal development.
Requirements:
  • A degree in any subject area, demonstrating a commitment to academic excellence and a passion for education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • An enthusiastic and proactive approach, showcasing a willingness to go above and beyond to support student learning and well-being.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, as you will work across various subjects and support different teaching styles.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, contributing to a collaborative and supportive school environment.
  • A valid DBS registration or willingness to apply through GSL Education.
