Senior Network Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to join our Global Network team within a prestigious financial services organisation based in the City of London.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, oversee, and deliver IT services to the group, including network and network security teams at key outsourcing partners.
  • Collaborate with the Network Manager to shape and execute control and audit remediation programmes of work.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with other key infrastructure teams, including hosting, storage, compute, security, and end-user services.
  • Identify and bring structure to ambiguous situations and problems, adopting an agile and flexible approach to work.
  • Work closely with the Global Network Team to jointly manage the IT outsourcers and ensure seamless delivery of network services.
  • Prepare and submit changes to Change Advisory and Initiation Forums, implementing approved changes through the development life cycle into production.
  • Create and maintain technical and process documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Requirements:
  • Strong background in Cisco routing, switching, data centre switching and routing, wireless networks, and Fortigate firewalling.
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco Catalyst 9000 series, Cisco Nexus 9k, and Fortigate physical and virtual firewalls, with the capability of setting up a greenfield site.
  • Knowledge and skills in Microsoft Azure networking, F5, NSX-T, DFW/Tiered gateways, Infoblox IPAM and DHCP, Solarwinds NPM, SDWAN, and Proxy technologies, both onsite and cloud.
  • 5+ years of end-to-end hands-on network management experience, with a proven track record of successfully shaping and executing control and audit remediation programmes of work.
  • Proven ability to work across multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments, with experience of owning and delivering projects.
  • Experience of working with IT outsourcers and a strong understanding of IT infrastructure and applications.
