Job Description

Main Responsibilities:

  • Verify and validate own tasks and cross-check the work of other draughtspersons to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Develop and produce designs that meet specifications, quality, and technical standards, and conduct detail design appraisals to maintain standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant technical areas, develop skills, and capabilities to provide effective services.
  • Collaborate as a member of a technical team to accomplish tasks of a specialist nature.
  • Manage assigned budgets effectively.
  • Investigate operational problems or developments, and develop and prepare solutions, individually or as a member of a team.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • The post holder is required to hold an NC/HNC or an equivalent qualification.
  • Proficiency in one or more parametric/spec driven CAD systems in both 3D and 2D environments is essential.
  • Autodesk experience is required.
  • Experience in FORAN is also necessary.

Experience and Background:

  • Experience working on Naval or Commercial Marine projects, preferably naval shipbuilding projects or new build or major conversion packages.
  • Apprenticeship in a relevant discipline or relevant industry experience is required.
