Position Overview
In alignment with The Walton Centre's dedication to enhancing nursing practices, an opportunity has arisen for a Neurology Nurse Specialist within our Headache Management team. The successful candidate will operate independently, demonstrating clinical proficiency and competence. Essential qualifications include a robust theoretical and practical understanding of Neurosciences, along with the capability to perform clinical assessments. Candidates should either be a non-medical prescriber or be prepared to pursue this qualification. Strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to service improvement are vital attributes for this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Headache Management team, including the lead nurse and lead consultant, to deliver a cohesive and effective patient service.
- Perform clinical responsibilities such as assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating care for patients in outpatient and inpatient settings, as well as providing remote support through various communication channels.
- Assist the lead nurse in documenting patient outcome metrics, including performance tracking, data collection, analysis, and reporting of clinical results.
- Engage in service enhancement initiatives aimed at refining the Headache Management service based on patient outcome evaluations and national service standards.
