Principal Town Planner Opportunity

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal Town Planner to join their dynamic team based in Cheshire. The successful candidate will have a strong background in town planning, with a focus on renewables, infrastructure, and strategic developments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the planning and delivery of major renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, and battery storage schemes.
  • Provide expert planning advice to clients, ensuring compliance with local and national planning policies.
  • Manage the end-to-end planning process, from initial site appraisals to securing planning consents.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including local authorities, communities, and environmental agencies, to drive successful project outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable years of experience in town planning, with a strong private sector background.
  • Strong knowledge of UK planning legislation and policy frameworks relating to renewables.
  • A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to work autonomously and within a small team.
  • RTPI membership (or working towards it) is desirable.
