Lead, manage, and develop the Packaging Area to ensure delivery of key results, aligning with overall site strategy and all relevant legislation.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage bottling operations to the highest standards, ensuring continuity, a sound control environment, and best practice sharing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to build strong cross-functional relationships that ensure strategic alignment and manufacturing capability to support commercial and marketing needs.
- Oversee the smooth functioning of dry goods warehouses, including material receipt, efficient handling, accurate stock control, minimal damage or waste, and timely supply to bottling lines.
- Ensure the efficient operation of the vat hall, encompassing spirit intake, tanker unloading, regular stock audits, accurate chill filtering, and timely supply to bottling lines.
- Manage bottling operations effectively by appropriately crewing skilled employees across shifts, optimizing labor utilization, promoting teamwork, ensuring employee welfare, and executing efficient changeovers to produce cased goods to quality standards and production schedules.
- Control trials and validation processes for new product development projects to ensure on-time and on-cost product launches.
- Maintain the efficient function of cased goods warehouses, controlling receipt and inspection of products, driving handling efficiencies, performing accurate audits, minimizing damage or decay, providing correct shipping documentation, and accurately picking orders in line with dispatch schedules.
- Closely monitor Dufftown productivity measures and associated financial costs to deliver the best possible outcome at the lowest possible costs.
- Optimize energy/utility usage across site bottling operations, minimize all waste, and continuously improve environmental performance.
- Maintain quality control across the department to ensure full compliance with quality specifications, identifying corrective and preventative actions, and following through to timely completion.
- Provide comprehensive support to maintenance programs (PPM and reactive), working closely to ensure stock availability of critical spares and to identify and implement improvement areas.
- Ensure equipment is maintained in proper condition across all Packaging operations, including regular machine cleaning and tidy housekeeping.
