Quality Assurance Manager

Responsible for overseeing daily quality and compliance matters while upholding company protocols and procedures. Collaborate with various departments within the organization to ensure the effective operation of the management system. Advocate for compliance, conformity, and ongoing enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

Evaluate and provide guidance on the performance of the quality management system, generating data and reports on performance metrics, and measuring against established standards.

Engage with managers and personnel across the organization to confirm that the quality management system is functioning effectively.

Support strategic business objectives by planning, directing, and coordinating activities.

Maintain a comprehensive Quality Management System to comply with legal standards.

Act as the Food Safety Team Leader.

Ensure the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) and Quality Management System (QMS) are established, implemented, maintained, and updated.

Organize and manage the tasks of the food safety team.

Coordinate relevant training and competency development for the food safety team, including in-house health and safety and food safety training.

Report on the effectiveness and appropriateness of the FSMS and QMS as a member of the management team.

Play a vital role in effective auditing and preparation for audits of production processes.

Assist in risk management initiatives.

Approve new suppliers and manage supplier relationships and raw material specifications, including proactive management of supplier incidents in collaboration with procurement.

Identify company non-conformances and drive corrective actions.

Support project management and the internal audit system, including internal audits related to company accreditations.

Manage customer relations effectively, including proactive handling of complaints, customer liaison, and facilitating corrective actions to maintain customer satisfaction, as well as managing customer audits and visits as necessary.

Support the regular review and management of HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, and the Quality Manual.

Qualifications & Experience

Experience in Food Science or the Food Manufacturing Industry.

Knowledge and experience in leading internal or supplier audits.

Familiarity with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, or BRC standards, as well as Kosher certification.

Proficient in IT systems for generating documents related to Quality Management.

At least Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety & Hygiene certification.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
