Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist HGV Driver to join our Contracts and Haulage Team at Leicestershire County Council. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting waste materials from our Recycling and Household Waste Sites to disposal locations using hook loader heavy goods vehicles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily vehicle checks and report any defects to the supervisor.
  • Ensure tachographs are signed and returned monthly.
  • Wear uniform and personal protective equipment at all times.
  • Apply health and safety requirements to work tasks.
  • Good organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload effectively.

Requirements:

  • HGV licence
  • Driver CPC
  • Full valid driving license including Business Insurance

Working Hours: The role will involve a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with work outside of normal working hours, including bank holidays, weekends, and out of hours working.
