About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Showbiz Reporter to join our team at Reach PLC. As a key member of our newsroom, you will be responsible for generating and covering day-to-day celebrity and entertainment news, ensuring that the focus is always on the site's most-searchable stories.

Key Responsibilities

  • Source and pitch exclusives on a weekly basis, keeping up with the latest showbiz news.
  • Pull in exclusive interviews and dynamic news stories that deliver a richness of content to the site while delivering a mix of breaking news and feature stories.
  • Optimise stories in accordance with digital SEO/Social strategies, write in accordance with digital house style, and identify unique headlines and angles for stories to make content more searchable.
  • Work on a varying shift-based rota, including weekend and evening shifts, requiring a flexible approach.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of showbiz reporting experience in a fast-paced national or large regional newsroom environment.
  • NCTJ or equivalent qualification and up to-date media law knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to create content at pace while meeting deadlines with ease.
  • First-rate SEO experience.
