We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Yard Operative at SYNETIQ. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient processing of vehicles through our facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure vehicles are processed along the company pathway for deliveries, collections, marketing, and storage.
  • Clean vehicles as necessary to ensure high-quality images.
  • Inventory parts on vehicles and image them.
  • Process logbooks, doc packs, and keys, either filing them safely or disposing of them correctly in accordance with GDPR rules.
  • Support the GDPR & Salvage Personal Belonging Team with GDPR compliance and contractual SLAs.
  • Ensure quality control at every stage, with no damage to vehicles or parts.
  • Liaise with customers or drivers to load and offload vehicles.
  • Maintain and take ownership of general housekeeping within your designated functional and customer-facing area, managing to a high standard to create a safe and streamlined environment.

Imaging & Grading Duties:

  • Be responsible for parts inventory of breakers, imaging, and grading of panels and parts for our sales channels.
  • Prioritize vehicles with parts on requirement by our premium customers.
  • Ensure vehicles are brought by a FLT to designated inventory/image areas.
  • Clean vehicles as necessary to ensure high-quality images.
  • Inventory parts on vehicles and image them.
  • Grade parts and image using company guidelines.
  • Ensure a video is taken of the engine, showing it starting, running, and the exhaust to highlight any issues.
  • Remove parts to be cleaned, tagged, imaged, and packed, ready for dispatch and stored carefully.
  • Support with processing stock inventory based on decisions made on the journey of stock, whether it's Parts Sales (breaker), Vehicle Sales (Auction), or ELV (end of life/scrap) to maximize value and return for SYNETIQ.

Requirements:

  • A full driving license.
  • Experience working outside in all weathers.
  • The ability to accurately record vehicle damage onto our system in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience using a forklift (onsite training will be provided).
  • Able to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Basic IT skills.
  • Previous experience working in a salvage site and knowledge or interest in motor vehicles is desirable but not essential.
