Job Description

As the Drives Control Application Software Engineer, you will take part in the development of Control Application Software for GE Vernova's range of Electric Drive Systems. Your primary focus will be on specifying, designing, coding, validating, and maintaining application software for megawatt-scale power electronic drive systems for Marine, Naval, Energy and Industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement application software for power electronic drive systems.
  2. Validate software using Hardware In the Loop (HIL) rigs and Laboratory test drives.
  3. Interface application software with other peripheral equipment.
  4. Support commissioning and validation of electrical drive systems.
  5. Ensure software designs meet performance and reliability requirements.
  6. Integrate control software into larger systems and verify their functionality.
  7. Travel to customer sites for meetings or equipment validation, typically a few times per year for a duration of a few days up to 2 weeks.
Requirements
  1. Sole British nationality.
  2. A relevant degree in Electrical, Electronics, Software Engineering or equivalent skills, or some experience in a software engineering environment.
  3. A basic understanding of programming principles of electrical machines, electrical drives, converters, etc.
  4. An ability to translate high level design requirements into efficient and robust software.
  5. Valid passport to meet travel requirements.
